Organic Cloth Diapers

With all the environmental issues the world is experiencing and the growing number of diseases people are much more aware and health conscious then ever. More and more people are switching to organic cloth diapers for the environments sake and also for their baby's health.

Disposable diapers are full of different kinds of chemicals that make them super absorbent. Besides getting rashes disposables contain chemicals that can cause a health threat to your baby.

These diapers are the 3rd biggest problem in landfills today. When we simply toss a baby's diaper into the trash we often don't realize that it will take 500 years for that on diaper to decompose.

Convenience

Of course it is easier to just throw something away then to have to deal with washing and drying it. But if you take into consideration and think about what a difference you would be making to the earth it would be worth a little inconvenience.

Getting Used to It

You can adapt to organic cloth diapers and it will become very easy. When your baby is a fully grown adult it would be disturbing to them if they knew his or her diapers are still in the landfills contributing to pollution. Not only that but those diapers will even outlive your baby's future great grandchildren! Now if you look at it this way isn't it worth the change?

Organic diapers are 100% cotton. These fabrics don't have any chemicals at all. They are all natural products that will decompose in no time and become part of the earth.

Why Organic?

They are Earth friendly and will help our plant recuperate from the already over polluted atmosphere. There is nothing to lose when buying organic diapers.

Cloth diapers are much more comfortable and soft on your baby's skin. Cotton breathes so this means it's healthier for your child's skin, however your baby can still get a rash if the cloth diaper gets too wet and isn't changed frequently enough.

The term organic has been very popular now days. More and more people are opting for organic food and products for two main reasons, the health of their loved ones and to protect the environment.

Cheaper?

We always know organic is much friendlier and usually more expensive. That is not the case with organic cloth diapers. Yes they are friendly but they are even cheaper than the alternative.

They say that the cost comes out to the same as the alternative depending on the brand you choose, the soap you use and also the electricity that is consumed by your washing machine and dryer. For cloth diapers to be budget friendly you should try to be conservative with the washing process. One great example is to hang the diapers to dry under the sun instead of using a dryer. This will already save you 96 dryer loads a year.

How do They Look?

Organic cloth diapers come in different brands and styles. There are the two piece prefold cloth diaper that includes a cotton cloth wrapping and a vinyl cover. You will need a Snappi or a safety pin on each side for harness.

The cover is used to prevent leakage from the sides and keeps baby's clothes dry. These are the cheapest organic cloth diapers available.

Some babies are more fidgety than others and the above is more complicated to put on. Sometimes the safety pins are hard to put on in this case you can use the cloth diaper that has Velcro.

My opinion

I have four children, the oldest three went through disposables and the last one used washable diapers. I have experienced all different brand and after using cloth diapers I would never go back to disposable diapers. I hate the thought that my babies' diapers are still out there somewhere. Besides, I don't think that it is a coincidence that my last baby never had one rash.

I like the velcro ones because they are much more convenient than having pins around the house. For me less accessories is better until the baby begins to unfasten his diapers by himself. You can use these diapers with or without a cover. You should have 1 cover for every 3 diapers.

Organic cloth diapers are very economical. When shopping for them be aware of the fabrics you choose because although they are all wonderful some can take more repeated washes than others do. These diapers will make you and your child very happy and you will be doing your environment a big favor.
